What is the The Wright Talent Group?
We are a scouting and image development company for agencies in cities like New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Atlanta and across the globe. In a nut shell, we develop, coach and market models and actors to be ready for the fashion and entertainment industry.
What are you looking for?
The Wright Talent Group is always scouting for actors and models (ages 4 and up) who are interested in the entertainment industry. Good preparation and unique personality is a predictor of success. We aim to work with people who have a good character and humble hearts.
What happens at an audition?
Our audition is more than an audition. It’s an inside look at the entertainment industry as a career/hobby. You will hear from our president, Angela Phillips Wright, and then have a chance to interview with our talent scouts. Depending on your interest in modeling, acting, singing, or dancing, will determine what all your audition includes. The entire process will take 1-3 hours.
How will I perform?
Actors: Prepare a 30 second monologue, or read a script provided by TWTG.
Models: Walk for our Scout. Special shoes are unnecessary. Stay natural.*
Most people auditioning will recite a 2-3 sentence cold read.
If I'm not an actor, why do I need to read a script?
Because today's entertainment industry requires cross-training. Models need to be able to speak well and do on-camera interviews. Talent alone is not enough. Personality and verbal ability are expected.
What if I live to far away or a miss my audition?
If scheduling permits, we will conduct one on one auditions, but it's rare.
What if I don’t receive a callback from the open audition?
You will receive an email with other options and/or advice. We are not out to hurt anyone's feelings, just because we
feel you are not a good fit for our team, doesn't mean you will not be successful if you choose to pursue this passion.
Can I audition for both modeling and acting?
Yes. You're encouraged to audition in both areas.
I'm a parent, is my child ready to audition?
In addition to talent, the most important attributes for children in entertainment are an outgoing personality and unusual maturity. Your child must be at least 4 years old. The desire to perform needs to be the child's desire - not the parent's.
Is there a fee to audition?
No, but If you receive a callback, there are fees associated with participating at The International Model and Talent Convention (IMTA) in New York or other programs you may be selected for.
What should I wear to the audition?
Dress in neat, casual, age-appropriate clothes, preferably in black—nothing dressy, nothing sexy. Keep your appearance fresh and natural. The industry likes a clean slate. If you meet the fashion model criteria please wear skinny jeans, a tank top and heels.
Should I bring a parent?
We encourage anyone under 21 teens to bring parent(s), a spouse, a mentor, and/or anyone who loves you and is interested in your future.
Is there an application to fill out?
You will be given an application to fill out on site, we ask that you bring a photo that is recent, and includes only you. These photos are used for identification purposes only, and they will not be returned.
*We may take an additional photo on site.
Can I bring babies and toddlers?
The minimum age to audition is 4. The TWTG audition is fun, but serious. If your children are too small to sit quietly for 1-3 hours, please leave them at home and/or bring a babysitter who can keep them in the lobby.
